I. DC capacitors are not allowed to be used as cross-line capacitors
For x2 safety capacitor class capacitor for suppressing electromagnetic interference of power supply should be used in the case where the failure of the capacitor will not lead to the danger of electric shock, such as the power supply connected across the line, and can withstand the pulse voltage of 2.5kV. For Y2 type capacitor for suppressing electromagnetic interference of power supply should be used in the case of capacitor failure which will not lead to electric shock hazard, and it can withstand 5kV pulse voltage impact without breakdown when used for power supply connection across the line.
II. Capacitors for suppressing electromagnetic interference of power supply
When capacitors are used in power supply cross-line circuits to eliminate noise, not only normal voltage but also abnormal pulse voltage (such as lightning) must be taken into consideration, which may cause the capacitor to smoke or catch fire. Therefore, the standards for crossover capacitors are strictly regulated in different countries, so it is necessary to use safety-compliant capacitors with guaranteed certification.
